Shopping
Sun City Palm Desert Residents have access to an amazing quantity and variety of shopping options. The shopping center immediately adjacent to Sun City is even accessible by golf cart through our card controlled gate. This adjacent shopping center has a large Stater Bros. Supermarket with an onsite butcher and bakery, part of a chain that has served Southern California with low priced groceries for over 80 years. The shopping center also has a drug store, hardware store, ice cream parlor, hair and nail salon, dry cleaners, banks, restaurants and much more.
The close by area is served by at least 4 other major grocery stores including the very low priced ALDI as well as Walmart and Target which also offer large selections of low priced groceries. Lowe’s and Home Depot as well as Costco, Kohl’s, Best Buy, Big 5 Sporting Goods, OfficeMax, T.J.Maxx, Marshals and Ross are all located conveniently on Highway 111 along with many other stores and restaurants.
Shopping for clothes, household goods and jewelry can range from the numerous thrift shops and consignment stores throughout the area to Palm Desert’s very upscale El Paseo Shopping District which features over 300 world-class shops, clothing boutiques, numerous art galleries showcasing everything from upscale, contemporary pieces to fine art. jewelers, restaurants and much, more… all lined along a beautifully maintained picture-postcard floral and statue-filled mile, Palm Desert’s answer to Beverley Hills Rodeo Drive. The two floors of over 150 shops and restaurants at the nearby mall offer even more choices as do the many smaller shopping districts filled with national brands and local offerings. For those wanting a day of outlet store bargain hunting, about a 40 minute drive on I-10 will take you to Cabazon where two large outlet centers offer about 200 designer stores.
